Policies at the Inn at Irving Place

The Inn is a totally nonsmoking facility which we enforce for the safety and comfort of our guests, as well as maintaining the integrity of the historic townhouse.  We do not permit smoking, scented candle or incense burning in any of our guest rooms.
**Guests who smoke in their room, or who allow smoking by others in their room will be charged a minimum of $150 up to $500 deodorizing and cleaning fee. Smoke permeates the rugs, bedspreads, pillows, curtains, etc and it may become necessary for us to remove smoke odors by cleaning all the curtains, bed linens, carpets and in some instances the room must be repainted to eliminate persistent smoke odors.
**Guests smoking or burning candles or incense in their rooms or elsewhere in the hotel property that set off the fire alarm will incur a $500 penalty.

Pet Policy
The Inn at Irving Place is a pet friendly hotel that understands pets are an extension of your family. We gladly welcome our guests traveling with small dogs in our 52 Irving Residences.

The following represent our dog friendly hotel policy:

  • Service Animals accompanying persons with disabilities are always accepted.
  • Dogs must weigh under 20 lbs.
  • Dogs must not be left unattended.
  • A pet fee of $10.00 per day is required for each pet plus a $100 non-refundable deposit, due to the extensive cleaning and deodorizing required after a pet’s stay.
  • Guests bringing pets into rooms without prior authorization will be charged a minimum deodorizing and cleanup fee of $200, as well as possible additional charges for replacement of furniture, fixtures and furnishings.

Damage and Theft
Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronic
equipment, towels, bathrobes, paintings and ornaments, etc shall be charged at 120% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges.
Damage to linen or towels resulting from the use of body oils, makeup, shoe polish, etc, will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.

Cancellation Policies
Owning to our small size, cancellations significantly affect us.
Once a reservation has been made and guaranteed by credit card you are fully obligated for your entire stay.
Checkouts earlier than the reserved period will incur 100% of the outstanding balance unless cancelled by 6pm two days prior to departure.
**Reservations must be cancelled by 6pm two days prior (48 hours) to arrival.
**A one night’s room and taxes will be charged for guests who do not cancel their reservation within the hotel's cancellation policy.

Early Check In or Late Checkout
By prior arrangement only and NOT guaranteed.  However, we are happy to store luggage for as long as necessary, and provide full access to restrooms and lounge area.
