Royal Tea - Service Options
Lady Mendl's would like to inform guests of two distinct service options available for private parties. Lady Mendl's famous French style service is the more traditional and formal choice of the two, while the Tea Buffet option offers a more casual setting similar to a cocktail party. No matter which service you choose, your private party sitting is for three (3) full hours. For your benefit, the following outlines in detail the differences of the two service options.
French Service
Upon arrival, there is a half hour for guests to meet, greet & mingle, during which our Champagne cocktail or wine service can be included upon request.
Each guest is then seated as the five course tea service begins.
Each course is served by our Wait-staff in orderly succession. Note: The Sandwich Course is served to your guests twice. (There is a choice of four sandwiches - Additional sandwiches can be added per the last page.)
Four teas are passed throughout the five courses. They include Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Egyptian Chamomile and Before the Rain Jasmine (Green Tea). Each tea pot is regularly refilled by the Wait-staff.
The five course French service lasts for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.
The remaining hour and fifteen minutes is usually reserved for gifts, presentations, and other activities.
Tea Buffet
This service option includes the same elegant Lady Mendl's Royal Tea menu presented at a luxurious Buffet Serving Station.
The Serving Station is generously replenished by our Wait-staff for approximately 90 minutes..
Champagne Cocktails and additional beverage options are also available for the Tea Buffet upon request.
With this option, you also have three full hours in an elegant but more casual private setting.
After the Buffet, the remaining hour and a half is usually reserved for gifts, presentations, and other activities.
In addition, you may choose to serve the Amuse Bouche as a “Passed Hors d’oeuvre” at the beginning of the party. For this option, there is a supplemental charge of $4 per person + tax and gratuity and consists of 2 pieces of the Amuse Bouche per person.
